  • Sunday June 27 - Spirit of Place

    Leave the darkness behind and celebrate the light of Summer with LIVE music from Psychedelic Celtic Folk Fusion band Aartwork, special guests Elly Tree and Mothership Voyage ; ‘Meet the Artist’ with Claudia Myatt; Installations, Poetry and more! It will be lovely to share this LIVE afternoon with you at last!

    Sunday July 4 - Spirit of the River

    Creative tides and light reflected in the beautiful music of Frances Shelley, Stephen William Hodd and Peter Hepworth with words from Julia Jones, Ambient music from Mothership Studios and more.

    Sunday August 1 - Spirit of Calm

    The ambient eclectic, calming music of the area is celebrated with renowned pianist Tom Rogerson, Music for Healing with Richard Norris, girl in a gale and the mandala artwork of David Turner from the USA plus ambient music world artists from radiomothership.com

    Sunday August 8th - Spirit of the Wind

    The sounds of halyards provide the background for poetry and song from legendary Martin Newell plus special guests providing an eclectic and entertaining afternoon of music and stories from East Anglia and beyond.

    Sunday September 5 - Spirit of the Moon 

    Keeping the mind healthy, celebrating the Harvest Moon with Mindfulness from Martin Wilks, A special music 'in the round' from Oktoba, Phil Jackson and Charlie Law plus the beautiful Beowulf Moon installation with Mothership Voyage.

    Sunday October 3 - Spirit of Beowulf

    The link between Suffolk and Britain's oldest poem with leading authority Dr. Sam Newton. We revisit the music, poetry, projections and art from the Beowulf Festivals 2018-2020 and Sutton Hoo, with invited musical guests and artist in residence, Susie Hammond..

    Sunday November 7 - Spirit of the Rose

    Woodbridge's link to the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam as told by Edward FitzGerald expert Charles Mugleston. A special Persian Tea & Cake is included with live music and poetry for a perfect Sunday afternoon soiree with the music and artwork of Nick Nicolson plus the Glass Thistles from Farlingaye School and Jan Pulsford's 'A letter from Woodbridge' - an album of ambient music inspired by Old Fitz and his times. Another fascinating link to the Spirit of Woodbridge.

  • Aartwork

    Aartwork are a psychedelic celtic folk fusion group playing original songs inspired by the Suffolk coast and their adventures with a boat stage. With a new post-lockdown line-up, Aartwork have added to their electronic effects and beats to evolve their unique style.


    Frances Shelley

    Frances Shelley is a composer, pianist and performer based in the countryside in East Anglia UK. An animist and long time environmentalist, much of her work is influenced by her love of the natural world. With a special interest in real-time live improvisation, Frances explores the moment of creation, responding to the audience environment which makes all her performances unique.     Richard Norris

    Richard Norris is a record producer, song writer, sound engineer, musician, DJ and author. "The electronic musician's electronic musician" (Electronic Sound magazine) His current work is a series of warm, electronic deep listening albums, on UK based label Group Mind Records.


    Martin Newell

    Martin Newell is an English singer-songwriter, poet, columnist, and author who leads the Cleaners from Venus, a guitar pop band with jangly, upbeat arrangements. He is also regarded as a significant figure in the history of cassette culture and DIY music.



    Oktoba is the project of Brighton based alt folk singer songwriter, Chris Athorne. Captivating, emotive and honest can be the words to describe his music and story telling. His songs 'Chance' and ‘It must be love’ were recently used on the soundtrack of Love Island.


    Sam Newton

    Author of The Origins of Beowulf and The Reckoning of King Rædwald: The Story of the King linked to the Sutton Hoo Ship-Burial. He has lectured widely around the country and has contributed much to television and radio. He is a Director of the study-centre at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk and a Time Team historian.
